英國業餘考古學家瑞吉．卡森(Regis Cursan)日前在倫敦西部河畔發現1枚古代羅馬的妓院代幣，其上印有男女交媾的圖騰；卡森推測，這枚代幣約有2千年歷史。

卡森(37歲)表示，當時他在退潮的河畔發現1枚硬幣，以它的直徑、厚度判斷，原以為是古羅馬貨幣，磨去細砂後發現竟是稀有的妓院貨幣；他推測，這枚代幣的流通年代為西元1世紀。在古羅馬時期，1枚代幣的價值約是1天的工資或7條麵包。

他已將代幣捐給倫敦博物館(Museum of London)，自2月起開始為期3個月的展示；卡森也指出，這枚代幣背後可能有個悲傷的故事，因為當時妓女就是性奴隸，沒有自由，也沒人權。
