日本女學生常給人有種很「萌」的感覺，但這種萌的感覺又從何而來呢？答案是，既可愛又性感的「校服」。

其實大概有85%的日本女生校服是以深藍色作為基調，因為深藍色的色調和日本女生的膚色，比較容易搭配出帶有「純潔」誘惑的情感。

而為了因應季節變化，日本女生校服也會分成夏、冬兩種款式；有的講究一點的學校還會另外制定秋裝。

但由於是校服，所以也不能太過誇張：所以一般學校還是選擇較為樸素的設計，以不過於鮮艷的色彩作搭配，並禁止穿戴過於昂貴的飾品，且不能太過裸露。
