世界上真的有「怕老婆」的男人嗎？英國一家雜誌社舉辦「尋找全國第一妻管嚴」(The Search for Britain’s Most Under The Thumb Bloke)活動，麥克˙傑佛瑞因各項活動皆需未婚妻批准才可成行，連小便都需乖乖坐在馬桶上，被評為「怕老婆」冠軍。

擔任足球教練的麥克˙傑佛瑞在2009年與菲莉塔(Joanna Felicitas)訂婚並同居。但她們的同居生活稱不上甜蜜，起碼對傑佛瑞來說並非如此。傑佛瑞在家小便時，需坐著以防弄髒地板；閒暇時刻需與她一起看美國影集《花邊教主》(Gossip Girl)，偶爾還要配合菲莉塔穿著緊身褲與女用皮靴。

最令傑佛瑞的朋友驚訝的，就是菲莉塔不許未婚夫與朋友出外應酬。傑佛瑞解釋，「因為我曾告訴她，某天我跟一群朋友喝醉，醒來竟發現大家睡在一起。從此之後她常胡思亂想，以為我朋友是同性戀，我可能會被煞到。」(bromance，意指男性之間的情愫)。

傑佛瑞的友人偷偷幫他報名，沒想到因這些非人待遇，一舉奪得冠軍。冠軍的獎品是與朋友來趟國內旅行。朋友相當擔心菲莉塔反對，所幸她最後還是點頭同意。

傑佛瑞表示，他並不因這些要求感到委屈，因為他們是真心相愛的。「坐著小便好處多，還可以邊看報紙或玩手機，只是菲莉塔會要我快點出來。」實際上，台灣某位部落客曾因鼓勵男士坐著尿尿，竟引發「男性尊嚴論」，傑佛瑞顯然相當體貼他的未婚妻。
